چکیده
Comprehensive information on the characteristics of surgical heart valves (SHVs) is essential for optimal valve selection. Such also important in assessing SHV function after replacement. Despite existing regulatory framework sizing and labelling, this challenging to obtain a uniform manner various SHVs. To ensure that clinicians are adequately informed, European Association Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (EACTS), The Society Thoracic Surgeons (STS) American (AATS) set up Task Force comprised cardiac surgeons, cardiologists, engineers, bodies, representatives International Organization Standardization major manufacturers. Previously, EACTS–STS–AATS Valve Labelling identified most problems around labelling. This Expert Consensus Document formulates recommendations providing physical dimensions, intended implant position hemodynamic performance transparent, manner. Furthermore, advocates introduction use standardized chart assess probability prosthesis–patient mismatch calls manufacturers provide required choice Charts, uniformly all models.

I would like to thank you for the honour of electing me as your President. As many of you might suspect and some of you know, in a well organised society like ours, with the Secretariat ably run by Torkel Aberg and Maud Zingmark, and the Organisational Secretariat efficiently managed by Kathy McGree, the duties of the President are not onerous. But still, a major task rests heavily on the shoul...
متن کاملThe Society of Thoracic Surgeons risk model for operative mortality after multiple valve surgery.
BACKGROUND This study was undertaken to develop The Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) mortality risk models for multiple valve procedures, which comprise 12% of total valve operations. METHODS Data were obtained from the STS Adult Cardiac Surgery Database for 50,231 patients undergoing combinations of aortic (A), mitral (M), and tricuspid (T) surgery between January 1, 2004, and December 31,...

BACKGROUND This is a validation study comparing the European System for Cardiac Operative Risk Evaluation (EuroSCORE) II with the previous additive (AES) and logistic EuroSCORE (LES) and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons' (STS) risk prediction algorithm, for patients undergoing valve replacement with or without bypass in Pakistan. PATIENTS AND METHODS Clinical data of 576 patients undergoing v...
